A nail-biting last round in the Open with no fewer than five players on the leading score of 4½/6 at start of play, ended with 14-year-old Sacha Brozel taking 1st place with a win over Viktor Stoyanov. IM Richard Pert and Rhys Cumming drew, while the fifth, John Merriman, lost to FM Bob Eames. =2nd, Rhys Cumming, IM Richard Pert, FM Bob Eames, Alan Punnett.
